Skin Bleaching

Skin Bleaching, Victoria B.C.

Friction, hormones and trauma to the skin can commonly cause skin to become a darker grey or brown colour on certain parts of our body. Friction and hormones tend to impact areas like the underarms, neck, back of knees, inner thighs, and intimate areas including the anus on both men and women. People with darker skin are more prone to this kind of hyperpigmentation as they naturally have more melanin. A pain-free and affordable solution to this problem is “skin bleaching or skin lightening.” The same product and process used for anal bleaching can be used anywhere on the body.

We review your medical history and discuss your goals, examine your skin to ensure there are no contraindications to treat, set expectations, answer questions, review the process, before and after care, as well as cost.

How Skin Lightening Works

Our skin-lightening products don’t contain actual “bleach” and won’t over-lighten your skin beyond its natural tone. Packed with botanical ingredients, acids, and retinol they exfoliate, gently break up melanin, and inhibit future melanin production. Skin bleaching both fades the pigment on the surface of the skin and helps slow the melanocytes from making excess melanin and thereby forming new hyperpigmentation. The number of treatments required varies, particularly for darker skin tones and high-friction areas. We also recommend using a take-home kit to maintain treatment results.

Our products are formulated and designed to be gentle and mild enough for sensitive skin and areas. Sometimes the skin can peel or flake after treatment. We can discuss sensitivity concerns at your consultation appointment.

Are skin bleaching products safe for pregnant women?

It is not recommended for use while pregnant due to heightened hormones, as this is when pigmentation can be caused. For the best results, use after pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Where are skin bleaching products made?

Bryght is made in the USA & Promoitalia is made in Italy.

Are there any contraindications to skin brightening?

Advised to not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding, as hormonal changes can affect pigmentation. Avoid using skin bleaching agents while using Accutane, Vitamin A pills, Hydroquinone, or harsh chemicals that may strip or over-lighten the skin. Skin bleaching should be done 1-3 weeks before or after laser treatments.
