How Skin Lightening Works

Our skin-lightening products don’t contain actual “bleach” and won’t over-lighten your skin beyond its natural tone. Packed with botanical ingredients, acids, and retinol they exfoliate, gently break up melanin, and inhibit future melanin production. Skin bleaching both fades the pigment on the surface of the skin and helps slow the melanocytes from making excess melanin and thereby forming new hyperpigmentation. The number of treatments required varies, particularly for darker skin tones and high-friction areas. We also recommend using a take-home kit to maintain treatment results.

How long until the skin bleaching results are seen?

Depending on the area, cause and the natural skin tone, often people notice 1-3 shades lighter after the first professional treatment. Areas of high friction are more stubborn, and people with darker skin may need more treatments and longer in-office treatment time.

What are the active ingredients that lighten the skin?

We use two different product lines: Bryght and Promoitalia Pink Intimate System.

The main active lightening ingredients in Bryght are:
Phenylethyl Resorcinol, Lactic Acid (Plant-Based AHA), Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vitamin C), Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber), Emblica Phyllanthus (Indian Gooseberry) Extract, Ascorbyl Palmitate (Vitamin C Derivative), Arctostaphylos Uva-Ursi (Bearberry) Leaf Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Extract, Morus Alba (Mulberry) Extract, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon)

Do Bryght and Promoitalia skin bleach contain any harsh chemicals?

No, our products are all-natural and do not contain harsh chemicals like hydroquinone. Hydroquinone is associated with many unpleasant side effects and is not appropriate for use in intimate areas.

Are skin bleaching products safe for people with sensitive skin?

Our products are formulated and designed to be gentle and mild enough for sensitive skin and areas. Sometimes the skin can peel or flake after treatment. We can discuss sensitivity concerns at your consultation appointment.

Are skin bleaching products safe for pregnant women?

It is not recommended for use while pregnant due to heightened hormones, as this is when pigmentation can be caused. For the best results, use after pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Where are skin bleaching products made?

Bryght is made in the USA & Promoitalia is made in Italy.

Are there any contraindications to skin brightening?

Advised to not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding, as hormonal changes can affect pigmentation. Avoid using skin bleaching agents while using Accutane, Vitamin A pills, Hydroquinone, or harsh chemicals that may strip or over-lighten the skin. Skin bleaching should be done 1-3 weeks before or after laser treatments.
